#AsktheCableway: How old does my child need to be to travel on the cable car?

This week in our #AsktheCableway blog series, we answer your “How old does my child need to be to travel on the cable car?” question.

The Cableway is a family-friendly attraction and we welcome children of all ages. Please note, however, that children between the ages of 4 and 17 years old will need to purchase a children’s ticket. You can book them online here.

Planning to visit us during the school holidays or on weekends between 1 May and 30 September? Book our Kidz Season special and treat two youngsters to a free cable car ride.

Please note:

  • Come prepared: The change in air pressure may affect the ears of babies and toddlers. We recommended bringing a pacifier along to help relieve the change in pressure.
  • Safety first: Whilst we aim to provide your family with an awe-inspiring experience, your children’s safety at the summit of Table Mountain is your responsibility too. Please watch out for running on the top and choose where you sit to rest along the pathway carefully.
  • Watch out for the wildlife: Please note there is no touching of our resident dassies allowed at any time, so keep an eye out for your little ones’ curious fingers.

We look forward to welcoming you and your children to the Cableway!

The Cableway’s operations are weather dependent. For updates, please visit our homepage, call +27(0)21 424 8181 or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
